Hemi-Powered 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara Is Up for Auction

This 2012 Jeep Wrangler packs a 6.4-liter Hemi V8 and serious off-road upgrades

The Jeep Wrangler has always been a popular platform for customization, but few modifications transform its character as dramatically as replacing the factory engine with a Hemi V8. A heavily modified 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara, featuring a RubiTrux-installed 6.4-liter Hemi and an extensive collection of off-road hardware, is now attracting attention on Bring a Trailer.

Finished in Bright White, this four-door JK-generation Wrangler combines substantially upgraded power with reinforced drivetrain components, suspension modifications, and equipment designed for demanding trail use.

6.4-Liter Hemi V8 Conversion

The centerpiece of this build is a 6.4-liter Hemi V8 installed by RubiTrux of Boone, North Carolina, in August 2022. The conversion included a revised cooling system, exhaust system, wiring harness, and torque converter to accommodate the larger engine.

The installation was documented in a RubiTrux invoice totaling $42,612.96. The seller reports that the Jeep has covered approximately 18,000 miles since the engine swap, demonstrating that the conversion has seen regular use rather than remaining a low-mileage showpiece.

Power is delivered through a five-speed automatic transmission connected to a dual-range transfer case. The drivetrain also features electronically locking Dana 44 axles, Tom Wood’s driveshafts, and a short-shaft kit.

Extensive Suspension and Off-Road Modifications

Supporting the V8 conversion is an AEV 4.5-inch suspension lift paired with Fox 2.5 Performance Elite remote-reservoir shocks. The suspension has also been upgraded with front and rear RockJock Antirock sway bars, aluminum upper and lower front control arms, and an Adventure Offroad raised track-bar bracket.

Steering improvements include an RPM Steering 2.5-ton, two-inch aluminum steering system and a Falcon steering stabilizer. The setup is designed to accommodate the larger tires while improving durability in demanding off-road conditions.

The Jeep rides on 17-inch Fuel wheels wrapped in 37-by-13.5-inch Cooper Discoverer STT Pro tires. A matching full-size spare is mounted on a TeraFlex tailgate tire carrier. Additional equipment includes aftermarket front and rear bumpers, a front-mounted winch, LED auxiliary lighting, rock rails, skid plates, and a receiver hitch.

Interior

Inside, the cabin features Dark Saddle leather upholstery, heated front bucket seats, and a rear bench. Convenience and entertainment equipment includes an Alpine Restyle touchscreen head unit, DS18 soundbar, cruise control, power windows, and automatic climate control.

The odometer currently displays approximately 195,000 miles, with roughly 173,000 accumulated under the seller’s ownership. The vehicle is accompanied by additional service records, the RubiTrux installation invoice, an accident-free Carfax report, and a clean Florida title. However, the Carfax also identifies at least one open recall.

Auction Details

Located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, this Hemi-powered 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara is offered through Bring a Trailer with the current highest bid sitting at $15,000. The auction is scheduled to end November 4, 2026.

Rather than being a conventional Wrangler restoration, this example represents an extensively modified JK that combines V8 power, upgraded mechanical components, and serious off-road equipment. Its substantial mileage and documented modifications make it an interesting proposition for buyers seeking a thoroughly used, Hemi-powered trail rig rather than an untouched factory example.
