Features and options – 2016-up Jeep models*

Grand Cherokee Cherokee Compass
Patriot Wrangler Wagoneer

(includes WK2Jeeps.com exclusive advance info)

Anticipated new/enhanced safety features for 2016 and 2017-up Grand Cherokee models: Electronic brake-force distribution Optimizes stopping distances and control under all vehicle loading conditions by regulating braking pressure, front-to-rear.

Electronic parking brake (EPB) with Safe Hold Console-lever electronic parking brake supplants conventional pull-handle/push-pedal system; can be activated while driving (pull up switch and hold); can be released automatically by engaging forward or reverse gears with driver buckled in and door closed; also features Safe Hold, which stops the vehicle using the motor on caliper (MOC) at each rear wheel if driver unlatches seat belt and opens door without placing vehicle in park.

Full-speed Forward Collision Warning-Plus (confirmed for 2016 models) Radar and camera technology combine to determine if frontal impact with another vehicle appears imminent; if so, system pre-fills brakes, then transmits audible and visual warnings for driver to intervene; no driver response triggers brief brake application as tactile alert; if driver remains unresponsive and frontal collision risk remains, brakes are applied to slow vehicle before impact; system may bring vehicle to full stop if imminent frontal collision detected at speeds below 25 mph.

LaneSense Departure Warning-Plus (confirmed for 2017 models) Alerts and assists driver with corrective action; leverages electronic power steering (EPS) to deliver subtle steering-wheel input when system detects need for course correction.

ParkSense Parallel/Perpendicular Park Assist (confirmed for 2017 models) Ultrasonic parking sensors on bumper guide driver into parking space. The system automatically controls steering-wheel angle, driver controls, gear position, brake, and accelerator. Parallel parking possible on either side of vehicle; for perpendicular parking, vehicle backs itself into space.

ParkSense front and rear park assist systems with stop and release (confirmed for 2016 models) in reverse, at low speeds, ultrasonic sensors detect stationary objects. If imminent collision is detected, system will provide a momentary, autonomous brake pulse, then release. Below 4.4 mph, system will bring vehicle to a stop before releasing.

360&d; Surround-view Camera This system uses four cameras positioned around the vehicle to provide 360-degree views, including a bird’s eye perspective of the vehicle and its surroundings. (expected for 2018 or 2019 model year)
