2027 Jeep Wrangler Gets New Features and Exterior Colors

The new Wrangler adds standard tech and comfort features

The 2027 Jeep Wrangler receives a series of updates focused on standard equipment, comfort, technology, and personalization while retaining the off-road capability that defines the iconic SUV. The lineup continues to offer eight trims, three gasoline powertrains, five returning Twelve 4 Twelve special editions, and several new exterior colors.

More Standard Features Across the Lineup

The Wrangler Sport, Sport S, and Willys now feature a standard 7-inch TFT color instrument cluster. The Sport S and Willys also gain standard passive entry, while the two-door Willys receives a vented power dome hood previously offered on its four-door counterpart.

The four-door-only Sahara adds an extensive list of standard equipment, including McKinley-trimmed seats, side steps, a nine-speaker Alpine premium audio system, embedded navigation, rear park assist, blind-spot monitoring, and cross-path detection. An auto-dimming rearview mirror, automatic high-beam headlights, a universal garage door opener, and a front off-road TrailCam also come standard.

The Rubicon and Rubicon X gain heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and embedded navigation, improving comfort for everyday driving and extended off-road trips.

Three Powertrains and Serious Off-Road Capability

The 2027 Wrangler retains three engine options. The 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder produces 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The 3.6-liter V6 delivers 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque, with either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic.

For maximum performance, the four-door Willys 392 and Moab 392 feature a 6.4-liter V8 producing 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque, matched with an eight-speed automatic.

When properly equipped, the Wrangler offers a maximum towing capacity of 5,000 pounds and crawl ratios up to 100:1. Its off-road specifications include a 32.4-degree breakover angle, 47.4-degree approach angle, 40.4-degree departure angle, up to 12.9 inches of ground clearance, and water-fording capability of up to 34 inches.

Available four-wheel-drive systems include Command-Trac, Rock-Trac in part-time and full-time configurations, and Selec-Trac full-time four-wheel drive.

The Wrangler also retains its distinctive open-air features, including the available Sky One-Touch powertop, tool-free door removal, and foldable windshield.

Special Editions and New Colors

Five Twelve 4 Twelve special editions carry over into 2027: Moab 392, Willys 392, Whitecap, Rewind, and Rockslide. These models add distinctive styling and equipment combinations to the existing lineup.

Available trims remain Sport, Sport S, Willys, Sahara, Rubicon, Rubicon X, Willys 392, and Moab 392. The Sahara and both V8-powered 392 models are available exclusively as four-doors.

Exterior colors include Black, Bright White, Firecracker Red, Granite Crystal, Hydro Blue, Earl Grey, ’41, and Joose. Gobi, Sting Gray, and Hella Yella return with late availability. New additions include Ghost and limited-edition Fathom Blue and Gum 31, also scheduled for late availability. Black is the listed interior color.

Refining an Established Formula

The 2027 Jeep Wrangler prioritizes meaningful equipment upgrades over a complete redesign. Improved instrumentation, additional standard convenience features, enhanced cabin comfort, and expanded paint choices make the lineup more appealing without compromising its core identity.

With its removable body components, advanced four-wheel-drive systems, substantial ground clearance, and available V8 power, the Wrangler continues to serve drivers seeking both everyday usability and serious off-road capability.
