The 2027 Jeep® Wrangler and Gladiator Sarge deliver an unmistakable tribute to Jeep brand military heritage, fusing 1941 roots with modern capability, craftsmanship and refinement.

Jeep Unveils Military-Inspired 2027 Wrangler Sarge and Gladiator Sarge

The Sarge models are designed to honor the company’s legacy

The Jeep brand has unveiled the 2027 Jeep Wrangler Sarge, a limited-edition model that pays tribute to the vehicle that started it all—the legendary Willys MB of 1941. As the eighth installment in Jeep’s Twelve 4 Twelve Wrangler series, the new Sarge edition blends military-inspired heritage styling with the technology, refinement, and trail-ready performance expected from a modern Wrangler.

Joining the Wrangler is the new Jeep Gladiator Sarge, extending the same historic design language to Jeep’s open-air pickup. Available on both Willys and Rubicon trims, the special editions celebrate the brand’s origins while delivering the capability demanded by today’s adventure-focused buyers.

According to Jeep CEO Bob Broderdorf, the Sarge models are designed to honor the company’s legacy by carrying its founding principles into the future rather than simply recreating the past.

“The Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator Sarge limited editions reflect how we honor our Jeep brand heritage, not by looking backward, but by carrying its values forward,” said Bob Borderdorf, Jeep brand CEO. “It’s about purposeful design, authentic details and building vehicles meant to be relied on, whether navigating demanding terrain or everyday roads, while staying true to our roots and meeting the expectations of our customers.”

Visually, the Wrangler Sarge draws heavily from the original military Jeep. Central to its appearance is the distinctive ’41 Green paint finish, a color that has become synonymous with Jeep’s wartime heritage. The olive-drab-inspired hue is complemented by heritage-themed graphics, including a vintage-style “1941” hood decal and military star door markings. Exclusive 17-inch wheels finished in matching ’41 Green, bronze tow hooks, body-color hardtops, and Rubicon rock rails further reinforce the rugged military aesthetic.

Beyond styling, the Sarge remains fully capable off-road. Standard equipment includes 33-inch BFGoodrich KO2 all-terrain tires and the proven hardware associated with the Wrangler Rubicon and Willys platforms, ensuring the special edition remains as functional as it is nostalgic.

The interior receives an equally thoughtful treatment. Jeep introduces a unique combination of Cattle Tan Nappa leather and Drab Green trim surfaces, creating a cabin that balances durability with premium craftsmanship. Hard-wearing cloth inserts, Mayan Gold contrast stitching, and military-inspired accents help establish a purposeful atmosphere. Heritage touches continue throughout the cabin, including a commemorative 1941 plaque integrated into the cupholder area, a star-themed shift knob, and HVAC graphics featuring Jeep’s iconic seven-slot grille motif.

Additional commemorative badging on the rear swing gate further connects the vehicle to Jeep’s storied history.

The Gladiator Sarge mirrors many of the Wrangler’s design cues while retaining the pickup’s renowned utility. Jeep highlights its best-in-class approach angle, class-leading departure angle, 7,700-pound towing capacity, and payload capability of up to 1,720 pounds, making it one of the most capable midsize trucks available.

Orders for both the 2027 Wrangler Sarge and Gladiator Sarge are scheduled to open later this summer. Jeep says pricing will carry only a modest premium, with the Wrangler Sarge starting just $100 above a similarly equipped Willys or Rubicon model, while the Gladiator Sarge will command a $500 increase over comparable trims.
