The fourth-generation Jeep Wrangler JL remains one of the most capable factory 4×4 platforms available, but this 2023 Wrangler Sport S takes its off-road hardware considerably further. Currently offered on Cars & Bids, the black-over-black example combines Jeep’s final-year 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 with a substantial suspension, wheel, tire, armor, and recovery-equipment package.
At the center of the build is the 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6, rated at 260 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque. That torque figure is particularly relevant off-road, where controlled low-speed propulsion is more valuable than peak horsepower. The engine drives through an eight-speed automatic transmission and two-speed transfer case, with the Wrangler retaining the selectable four-wheel-drive architecture that defines the JL. The 2023 model year was also significant because it was the final year Jeep offered the turbodiesel in the Wrangler.
This Sport S has been transformed substantially from stock. Its suspension uses a MetalCloak 3.5-inch GameChanger lift kit with sway-bar disconnects and an upgraded front driveshaft, paired with Falcon SP2 3.3 adjustable shocks. Seventeen-inch Method Race Wheels 701 BeadGrip wheels carry 37×12.5-inch Falken Wildpeak AT3W tires, increasing ground clearance and improving the Jeep’s footprint on loose terrain.
The supporting hardware is equally purposeful. MetalCloak aluminum Overland tube fenders, high-clearance liners, Overline rocker rails, and a front bumper with bull bar provide additional trail protection. A WARN EVO 10-S winch, Smittybilt heavy-duty pivot tire carrier, and LED lighting further reinforce the Wrangler’s expedition-oriented configuration. Factory equipment includes the Technology, Convenience, Cold Weather, Trailer-Tow and Heavy-Duty Electrical, and 8.4-inch Radio and Premium Audio groups, along with a three-piece hardtop.
The auction listing reports 21,500 miles, a clean Florida title, and a clean Carfax history. Recent documented work includes an engine oil and filter change and four-wheel alignment in July 2026. However, prospective buyers should account for several disclosed issues, including paint chips, hardtop scratches, a bent driver-side Freedom panel corner, an illuminated TPMS warning, and some corrosion on underbody hardware.
Ultimately, this Wrangler represents a compelling combination of a now-discontinued diesel powertrain and serious aftermarket engineering. Rather than simply adding cosmetic accessories, the build addresses suspension travel, tire clearance, protection, recovery, and trail durability—making it a purpose-built interpretation of the JL platform.
