1. NUMBERS ON THE TEMPERATURE CONTROL KNOBS.
The numbers around the temperature knobs are “COMFORT” settings. The numbers are not ambient air temperatures. Select the “Comfort” setting, and once selected, there is no need to change the setting regardless of climatic conditions.
2. AUTO / AUTO SELECTION
Other than for Defrost, for optimized performance of the automatic temperature control system do not adjust the “Comfort” setting and always leave both the Blower Control and the Mode Control knobs (selectors) in their “Auto” position.
3. AUTO / AUTO OPERATION
Temperature, mode, and blower changes may be experienced as a result of inputs (i.e. sun load) to the automatic temperature control system. The system is automatically adjusting to the settings selected by the customer. The system accomplishes this by automatically changing (moving) the HVAC unit blend-air and mode doors. These changes are normal to the automatic operation of the system. If the “Comfort” setting is satisfactory, there should be no need to further adjust the setting to obtain quicker cooling or heating, the system will automatically adjust dependent upon inputs to the system.
4. MANUAL OPERATION
The HVAC system blend-air door is always automatically attempting to obtain the selected “Comfort” setting even with the mode control and/or blower control knobs in one of their manual positions. As a result, the customer may notice a temperature change from the system air outlets as the system attempts tomaintain the “Comfort” setting previously set by the customer.
5. CENTER CONSOLE – REAR OUTLETS
The outlets located in the rear portion of the center console are used to deliver conditioned air to the rear second row passenger area. The conditioned air is equivalent to the air from the instrument panel outlets. Hot, cold, or anywhere in between conditioned air will flow through these outlets ONLY when either the Bi-Level or Panel mode is selected. If any other mode is selected NO conditioned air will exit the center console rear outlets.
6. DRIVER/PASSENGER SEAT – REAR FLOOR OUTLETS
Conditioned air is delivered to the rear passenger compartment by way of air ducts located under the driver and passenger seats. Hot, cold, or anywhere in between conditioned air will flow through these outlets ONLY when Fl oor, Bi-Level or Defrost/Fl oor mode is selected. If any other mode is selected NO conditioned air will exit the under seat rear floor outlets. In Bi-Level mode the temperature from the rear floor outlets will be warmer than the conditioned air exiting the center console rear outlets.
7. WINDOW FOGGING
Interior fogging on the windshield or side windows can be quickly removed by turning the mode control knob to the Defrost position and engaging high blower speed.
