Grille removal and installation 2005-2010
All 2005-2007 grilles are interchangeable between all 2005-2007 models (Laredo, Limited, Overland, SRT8). The same goes for 2008-2010 grilles which can be interchanged between 2008-2010 models. For example, Grand Cherokee Limited owners have changed out their chrome grille for a matching body-color grille, while Laredo owners have changed their body-color grille to the Limited or Overland chrome grille.
Several different styles of backing mesh is used between models. This mesh is not sold separately and only comes with the grille. The mesh can be removed and put onto a different grille.
As noted below, changing out the grille is an extremely easy process that takes less than a couple minutes.
Removal and installation of the Grand Cherokee grilles is extremely easy:
1. Remove the 6 plastic push pins. The pins are comprised of two pieces. With a small flat screwdriver pry up the circular pin top and remove. Then pry up and remove the sleeve.
2. Tip grille forward and remove. Be careful not to scratch top of fascia.
3. When replacing the grille, be sure that the tabs along the bottom are aligned correctly over the lip of the fascia.
