Now available on Bring a Trailer, this 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon presents a heavily upgraded interpretation of the JK platform, combining American Expedition Vehicles’ (AEV) JK350 package with a broad range of equipment designed for off-road travel and overlanding. Finished in distinctive Hypergreen over black leather, the four-door Wrangler pairs factory Rubicon hardware with upgraded suspension, recovery equipment, braking components, lighting, and trail-oriented accessories.
The centerpiece of the build is AEV’s JK350 package, which brings a lifted suspension, AEV bumpers, skid plates, wheels, and a heat-reduction hood, complemented by a Warn winch for recovery duties. The Wrangler also features a roof rack with an Overland Vehicle Systems awning, an intake snorkel, rock rails, receiver hitch, Factor55 UltraHooks, and removable doors. Rigid auxiliary lighting and JW Speaker headlights and taillights improve visibility, while Metalcloak hinge steps add easier access. A corner-mounted propane kit further emphasizes the vehicle’s overland mission.
AEV 17-inch wheels are fitted with 1.5-inch Spidertrax spacers and wrapped in 35×12.50-inch Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T tires, with a matching spare mounted at the rear. The suspension incorporates Bilstein shocks, adjustable Airlift 1000 rear air springs, adjustable track bars, and a Hellwig rear anti-sway bar. Steering upgrades include a Bilstein steering stabilizer and Steer Smarts Yeti XD tie rod and drag link assembly. Powerstop big brake kits at both axles provide increased stopping capability to match the larger tires and additional equipment.
Inside, black leather covers the bucket seats and rear bench, with AEV embroidery on the headrests and Rubicon script on the front seatbacks. The cabin retains useful factory amenities including Uconnect touchscreen infotainment, cruise control, power windows, and automatic climate control. Additional equipment includes a fold-down tailgate table, DV8 Offroad metal door pockets, a Bestop under-seat lock box, a digital rearview mirror, paracord grab handles, dashboard-mounted Bulletpoint accessories, a fire extinguisher, and a flashlight mounted beneath the driver’s seat. The carpet is loose near the right side of the center console.
Power comes from Jeep’s 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, factory rated at 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. A Genesis dual-battery system, sPOD six-switch power-management system, Banks Pedal Monster controller, and ARB twin-compressor installation expand the Wrangler’s expedition capabilities, although the compressor currently lacks an outlet fitting. A RedRock high-clearance cat-back exhaust is also installed.
The five-speed automatic transmission sends power through a dual-range transfer case to the rear or all four wheels, while factory Tru-Lok locking differentials provide additional traction. The seller states that both differentials were serviced in 2026. Noted imperfections include a windshield chip on the left side, a scratch on the left crush can, and the removal of the rear windshield wiper. Overall, this JK350-equipped Rubicon stands as a highly personalized combination of factory off-road capability and aftermarket expedition hardware.
