Wards Auto just recently named the spacious and luxurious cabin of the all-new 2021 Jeep® Grand Cherokee L as one of the 10 Best Interiors for 2021. The interior brings together handcrafted materials with modern amenities, with an option for a McIntosh audio system.
Stellantis Chief Design Officer Ralph Gilles shared, “When it came to the interior design of the all-new 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L, our team’s objective was to create one of the most exquisite and technically advanced interiors in the industry. This all-new interior features a much more focused approach to attention to detail of materials and design as a system. Our goal was to deliver an experience for drivers and passengers that delighted the senses and perhaps set a new standard of luxury for the segment, while also setting a new internal benchmark for our future generations of Jeep brand vehicles. The Jeep Grand Cherokee L has been carefully designed and fitted to provide a unique expression for each trim level. The dimension and symmetry accentuate the structure. The instrument panel was properly proportioned and angled to maximize space that is brought to life through the expressive contrast between warm authentic materials blending perfectly with sleek modern technologies. This includes the 10-inch digital display screens that uses the Uconnect 5 system that has been made five times faster than before.
The Summit Reserve is the new premium package for the Grand Cherokee L. It raised the bar for luxury in terms of full-size SUV segment. Handmade, quilted Palermo leather wraps the interior with ventilated front and second-row seats. Memory, lumbar, and back massage front seats were also added, as well as a new choice of color with the new Tupelo interior color which adds distinct details to the model.

All models now have the full suite of customizable interior LED lighting with daytime/nighttime settings as standard. A Jeep brand first is the ambient lighting with five-color selection is also standard for the Overland and Summit models to give a truly personalized sensory experience.
The Grand Cherokee L also introduced the new Jeep seating architecture with the Overland and Summit models getting the length-adjustable cushion for the front row seats. Also, another Jeep first is the second and third-row vents placed in the pillars and are now wider and slimmer. This is to better target the passenger comfort zones while ensuring that headroom and visibility are not compromised compared to when they were placed overhead.
The Jeep Grand Cherokee L is the most technologically equipped car with next-generation innovations which includes digital rearview mirror, rear-seat monitoring camera, frameless digital cluster and windshield HUD.
The Jeep interior design team and McIntosh got together to give an advanced, high-performance audio system that wraps the vehicle occupants in high-definition sound. The McIntosh design teams and the Jeep brand had a shared vision that brought the Jeep vehicle audio system to life boasting of the same authenticity, design quality, premium sound that is found in all McIntosh home audio products. The 950-watt, 19 custom speaker sound system adds to the modern luxury of the vehicle’s new interior design.
The Wards editorial staff evaluated 33 vehicles from which they selected the winners from. All the contenders were completely new and for the 2021 model year, they were redesigned. The criteria for the scores that was given by the Wards team include comfort, ergonomics, fit-and-finish, aesthetics, and material quality.
